📏 MURAL SIZE GUIDE
The mural doesn't have a fixed overall size – repeat and reposition the stencils to fit your own wall.
As a guide, our example mural features:
🏔️ Large mountain peak – approx. 165cm / 65" high
🌲 Tallest pine tree – approx. 160cm / 63" high
🌲 Distant tree line – approx. 90cm / 35" high
🌲 Foreground forest – approx. 50cm / 20" high
You can vary the heights, spacing and positioning to create a mural that works perfectly with your room.
🎨 CHOOSE YOUR OWN COLOUR SCHEME
One of the best things about painting your own mural is that you aren't restricted to a particular colour combination.
Our images show just some of the possibilities – from dramatic greys and charcoal to softer blues and natural woodland greens.
For a lovely sense of depth, we recommend using 3–4 coordinating shades, working from the lightest colours in the background to the darkest in the foreground.
🩶 Grey + charcoal – modern and dramatic
🌲 Sage + forest green – natural woodland feel
🩵 Soft blue + green – lovely for nurseries and children's rooms
🤎 Warm neutrals – subtle and sophisticated
The listing images are intended as inspiration – choose your own colours and layout to make the mural completely your own.
🖌️ HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR MURAL
*Please view the listing images for full step by step tutorial and guide to size and painting.*
The basic rule is simple:
Work from BACKGROUND → FOREGROUND and LIGHT → DARK.
1. Paint the mountains
Repeat the mountain stencil across the wall and add the snow-cap details.
2. Add the distant forest
Use the background pine stencil to create your first line of trees.
3. Build the foreground forest
Repeat the foreground pine stencil towards the skirting board, moving it slightly up and down as you go for a more natural appearance.
4. Add the large tree trunks
Position the trunk stencils around the wall, varying their heights and spacing.
5. Build your large pine trees
Use the different branch stencils over the trunks. Alternate the branches and positioning so your trees don't all look identical.
6. Fill the gaps
Finish with additional smaller foreground trees between the larger pines to create a full, layered forest.
Choosing the Pine Forest Kit? Simply begin at Step 2 and build your forest without the mountain backdrop.
🌲 CREATE YOUR OWN LANDSCAPE
There is no set layout that you have to follow.
Make your trees taller or shorter, change their spacing, create a dense forest or leave more open areas. With the complete kit, you can also alter how much of the mountains remain visible behind the trees.
Repeating and repositioning the templates means the mural can continue across virtually any width of wall.
It also means no two finished murals need to look exactly the same.
🖌️ SIMPLE STENCILLING TIPS
Secure your stencil using low-tack masking tape or repositionable spray adhesive if required.
Apply your paint using a small dense foam roller, removing excess paint before rolling over the stencil.
The secret is less paint, not more! Several light passes will give a much cleaner result than one heavy coat and will help prevent paint bleeding underneath the stencil.
Remove the stencil carefully while the paint is still slightly damp, reposition and continue.
♻️ REUSABLE STENCIL MATERIAL
Your templates are made from durable, flexible stencil material designed to be repositioned and reused throughout your mural.
Clean carefully between colours when required and the stencils can also be kept for future decorating projects.
📸 PLEASE NOTE
The room images show examples of murals that can be created using the stencil kit.
Paint colours, positioning, number of repeats and final layout are entirely up to you. Furniture and accessories shown in the lifestyle images are not included.
