🌲 LIFE IN THE WOODLAND – MURAL & BORDER STENCIL

Bring the woodland indoors with our Life in the Woodland Stencil, featuring deer, a majestic stag, woodland animals, pine and broadleaf trees, birds, mushrooms, grasses and other little forest details.

Perfect for children's bedrooms, nurseries and playrooms, this reusable stencil collection lets you create the look of a hand-painted woodland mural without needing to paint everything freehand.

🦌 OPTION 1 – LARGE WOODLAND MURAL KIT

Create an impressive woodland scene approximately 1.2 metres (47") high ( not incl any skirting board) and spanning as much of your wall/room as required.

The kit contains separate reusable stencil elements including:

Stag • Doe • Fox • Squirrel • Rabbit • Pine Trees • Broadleaf Tree • Birds • Mushrooms • Grasses • Shrubs • Ground & Trunk Details

The separate elements allow you to build the forest across your wall while adapting the spacing and number of elements used to suit the space available.

📏 DESIGNED FOR DIFFERENT WALL SIZES

You don't need a huge wall to create the mural.

Our listing shows examples of the design arranged across a wall approximately 240 cm high × 420 cm wide (95" × 165"), using the elements to create a large, sweeping woodland scene.

We also show an example layout for a much smaller wall of approximately 240 cm high × 240 cm wide (95" × 95"). Simply use fewer of the supplied elements and position them closer together to create a balanced scene while keeping the individual trees and animals at their intended scale.

The finished height can also be varied. Position the ground closer to the skirting for a lower mural, or begin higher up the wall to increase the overall height. The modular tree sections can also be positioned to create different tree heights.

Use our illustrated layouts as an easy guide, then adapt them where necessary to suit your own wall.

🌿 OPTION 2 – LARGE REPEATING BORDER

For a simpler project, choose our Large Repeating Woodland Border Stencil.

Repeat area: 50 cm high × 116 cm wide
(approx. 19.7" × 45.7")

The woodland design repeats end-to-end, allowing you to continue the scene across as much of the wall as required.

Paint it lower down the wall above the skirting, or create a painted colour band and stencil the woodland along the top for a completely different look.

A great option if you love the woodland design but would prefer a quicker, more traditional repeating wall stencil.

🎨 SIMPLE TO CREATE

We've done the planning for you. Follow our suggested layout to create a beautifully balanced woodland scene.

For the large mural, the process is simply:

Create the ground → Build the trees → Add the animals → Finish with the smaller woodland details & birds.

🖌️ CHOOSE YOUR COLOUR

The woodland looks particularly effective painted in one single colour, creating a striking silhouette while also keeping the painting process straightforward.

Try deep forest green, charcoal, soft black or chocolate brown for a rich woodland look, or softer shades such as sage green, warm taupe, dusty blue or muted terracotta.

Choose a colour with good contrast against your wall so the trees, animals and smaller details stand out clearly.

⭐ TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

For best results, ensure your wall or surface is flat and smooth. Textured walls can prevent the stencil sitting flat and increase the risk of paint bleed.

Secure the stencil with low-tack tape and apply only a small amount of paint at a time. We recommend a high density foam roller for larger areas and a stencil brush for smaller or more detailed areas.

Build the colour gradually with light coats rather than trying to achieve full coverage with one heavy coat.

The stencils are reusable, allowing elements to be repeated and repositioned as you work across your wall.

Stenciling is really fun and simple and you can add amazing effects to 100's of home decorating projects.

1 - Position your stencil: Use low tack tape or repositionable spray mount to keep your stencil in place

2 - Paint your stencil: Depending on your project or preferences you can use a stencil brush, dense foam roller, or spray paint to paint your stencil

3 - Repeat your stencil: Repeat your pattern or motif over and over again. When you have finished, water based paints can be soaked/washed off the stencil and then stored away safe for future use

Top tip: Don't us too much paint! This will cause paint to seep under the stencil and cause blotchy edges.
